Puppies are coming. Poodle Puppies.

Our female, LeLuna De Noel is due to have a litter of Standard Poodle puppies in 2013, February.  Woo Hoo, they are so much fun to have around and watch them grow and learn.  The seven puppies that she had last spring sold out fast for they are just too cute.  Our female is a White Royal.  (Super Big) and our male, AngeSole is average standard Poodle size and is champagne colored..
Their temperments are wonderful and they really get along with everything.  The people who were lucky enough to get the pups last spring all have such wonderful things to say about their new family members.  Shoot me an email if you are thinking of getting yourself a standard in the spring.
Here are a few pictures of the litter from April 2012 to see what our babies look like.  CKC babes.

Homemade Dog Treat Cookies and Bag

Peanutbutter Dog Cookies with Flax Seed and Bag

Today with the freezing temps outside I opted to make the Poodles some homemade cookies.
I first put in Flour, oil, flax seed, brown sugar and two of our homegrown eggs and a little milk to keep it all together and baked them off like cookies.
They turned out great.  While I was baking off the dog treats (that I could eat but will not) I sewed together the bag to keep them in and used to baling twine to pull string it together and I used some scap material from quilting squares.  Odds and ends.  It all turned out great and the poodles love, love, love them.  I also put in some wild rice....forgot about that.  So good for them and quick and easy.  Way more thrifty than paying seven dollars for them at the store and healthier too.
I suggest that everyone make their own.  Spend thrifty as well as better for them.  Basically, I made a peanut butter cookie with less sugar and added the flax and wild rice.  They come running for a serendipity cookies.  Here are  pictures of the cookies and the bag.  It is the little things in life that seem to keep me happy.....and the dogs too.
3-4 cups of flour
1/4 cup Canola oil
1/4 cup milk
1 cup Peanut butter
2 eggs
a pinch of salt
1/2 cup loose brown sugar
1/2 cup flax seed
1/4 cup rice
water to texture
I measured nothing but that is an eyeball measuring system.  ;-)
Mix and ball to cookies or spread on a cookie sheet in cake form and cut when you get them out.
The cookie balls seem to bake off better with less crumbing.

So fun for me and the Spoos.  The bag was more for me.  They don't care about that....Silly poodles.
